Prime Focus Group Completes Phase 1 of Mumbai’s New Global Entertainment Ecosystem With Launch Of ‘Prime One’
The opening of Prime One marks the first major milestone in Prime Focus Group’s collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra to create a new global entertainment ecosystem in Mumbai.
A vision that began with a shared ambition has reached its first major milestone.
Prime Focus Group has officially completed Phase 1 of its landmark collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, marked by the opening of Prime One, a new world-class production studio for high-end content creation at Mumbai’s Film City.

Located close to Prime Focus Studios’ soundstages in Film City, Prime One combines cutting-edge production capabilities with an advanced digital infrastructure, strengthening Mumbai’s position as one of the world’s leading destinations for filmmaking and content creation. It also marks the first step in a multi-year vision to create a globally recognised entertainment ecosystem that is generating thousands of highly skilled jobs and attracting creators, companies, and audiences from around the world.

The inauguration was attended by Prime Focus Group Founder Namit Malhotra, The Honourable Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Ashish Shelar, Minister of Cultural Affairs for Maharashtra, Mr. Chanchal Kumar, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB), along with other dignitaries, reflecting the scale and significance of this public-private collaboration.

Speaking at the launch, The Honourable Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said:
“Prime Focus came to us with a vision to create a world-class facility in Mumbai that would serve the world, and today I am delighted to see that vision become reality with the opening of Prime One. It is a masterpiece of creativity and a truly world-class production facility that reflects India’s growing leadership in the creative economy. India has always been home to extraordinary storytellers, and now we have the opportunity to share those stories with the world through world-class infrastructure, cutting-edge technology and a thriving creative ecosystem. Prime One is an important milestone in that journey, and the Government of Maharashtra remains committed to working with Prime Focus as we build the next phase of this landmark development together.”

Looking ahead, Phase 2 will expand this vision beyond production infrastructure to include world-class entertainment attractions, immersive experiences, hospitality and lifestyle destinations, creating a vibrant ecosystem for creators, visitors and fans of entertainment alike.

Reflecting on the journey so far, Prime Focus Group Founder Namit Malhotra said:
