Ramayana’s Musical Journey Begins with ‘Jai Jai Ram’

The journey of Ramayana continues with the release of ‘Jai Jai Ram’, the first song from the highly anticipated two-part cinematic event.

Composed by A.R. Rahman, penned by Dr. Kumar Vishwas, and sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, ‘Jai Jai Ram’ marks the beginning of Ramayana’s musical journey. The song blends the spiritual essence of an aarti with the emotion of a cinematic composition, creating a soulful invocation of Shri Ram. Its lyrics reflect themes of compassion, protection, strength and adherence to dharma, while the repeated invocation of Shri Ram gives the song its devotional core.

The song marks another milestone in the making of Ramayana. Produced by Prime Focus Studios in association with DNEG and Monster Mind Creations, the film draws on the creative and technological expertise of the Prime Focus Group to bring one of the world’s most enduring stories to the screen on an unprecedented scale.

Speaking about the song, DNEG CEO and Founder & Producer, Namit Malhotra, said: “Shri Ram is at the heart of Ramayana and, for generations, has been the guide we turn to through every phase of life. In moments of darkness, we seek his strength. In moments of uncertainty, we look to his path. And in moments of joy, we remember him with gratitude. ‘Jai Jai Ram’ comes from that deeply personal and timeless relationship we share with Shri Ram. “While Ramayana is being created on a great scale, its true foundation lies in its emotion, its values and its devotion. With ‘Jai Jai Ram’, we wanted our first song to reflect that soul, to celebrate Shri Ram not only as someone we worship, but as the protector, guide and source of strength we carry within us. Beginning this musical journey on Ganesh Chaturthi felt especially meaningful because, in our culture, every auspicious beginning starts by seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.”

Ramayana Part One arrives in cinemas worldwide this Diwali 2026.
