Prime Focus Limited & DNEG contributes to COVID-19 relief effort in India

We are proud to have donated 50 Oxygen Concentrators and 1,000 Ration Kits to the State of Maharashtra, the second-most populous state in India and home to DNEG’s flagship Indian studio in Mumbai. The donations were a joint contribution from DNEG and Prime Focus in an effort led by DNEG CEO Namit Malhotra.

Critical in the battle against Coronavirus, Oxygen Concentrators are currently in short supply in India and are a vital resource for those suffering from the respiratory effects of Coronavirus.

The DNEG and Prime Focus teams have also sent 1,000 ration kits to Maharashtra to support the local communities that have been so badly affected by the pandemic.

These efforts were recently acknowledged by local parliamentary member Priyanka Chaturvedi who shared the following image (right) in a tweet.

Like every challenge our global teams face, we’re stronger when we face them together.

If you’d like to make a personal contribution to the relief effort, consider the following aid organisations, which are all working hard to help the situation in India:

We’re excited to share that DNEG is opening a new studio in Bangalore!

This extension underscores DNEG’s commitment to its future-focused technology vision. Known as India’s ‘Silicon Valley’, Bangalore is a global hub of technology and innovation offering a deep pool of incredible local talent.

We’re currently in the process of on boarding a team of talented artists and technicians who will work alongside our established teams in Mumbai, Chennai and Chandigarh, and across the world. The Bangalore team will join the larger DNEG family to help deliver premier VFX and animation services to all our international projects across feature film, OTT and feature animation.

Commenting on the expansion, Merzin Tavaria, President Global Production and Operations, DNEG said: “Two of the cornerstones of our success at DNEG are providing a platform and exciting opportunities for our industry’s brightest and best talent, and strategic expansion and integration of new sites and services at just the right time. We’re extending our footprint into Bangalore to provide both further capacity and support for our global teams, and to explore the potential of the incredible talent in the area while providing opportunities to work on the biggest international projects. Our new team in Bangalore will be working alongside the best in the business, and we look forward to welcoming them on board.”
