Prime Focus RELOADS Advertising Services offering with high-profile creative talent and new facility

Prime Focus Limited (BSE: 532748), the world’s largest independent media services provider, has RELOADED its Advertising Services offering in India with a series of high-profile hires across its creative team and a new offline editing facility. The newly revamped division offers advertising clients world-class post production technology and access to some of the nation’s leading creative talent.

Bhaarath Sundar has rejoined the Prime Focus Advertising team as Chief Business Development Officer, Advertising & Animation after a period of two years as Group CEO & Managing Partner of Teamwork Studios. Bhaarath is leading the RELOADED Advertising offering, which operates across three integrated sites in Khar, Mumbai, offering online editing and grading, a dedicated CG / VFX and animation team and a brand new dedicated offline editing studio.

Commenting on the re-launch, Bhaarath said: “Indian agencies and brands are producing truly world-class advertising, and we have RELOADED the Prime Focus Advertising division to give our clients access to the best facilities and talent in India. Following our recent hires, we estimate we have almost 90% of the high-end advertising services creative talent available in India, working under one banner and with all the latest technology at their finger-tips. The way ads are finished and delivered is constantly changing, and we’re here not only to help realize our clients’ ideas as beautifully as possible, but also to take away the headaches of the technical aspects of delivery.”

Dneg brings home the ‘Best VFX’ Oscar – for the second year in a row!

Huge congratulations to Double Negative for once again bringing home the ‘Best VFX’ Oscar!

Up against heavyweights ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’, ‘The Martian’, ‘The Revenant’ and of course ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’, Dneg’s work on ‘Ex Machina’ won over the Academy voters and saw Andrew Whitehurst, Paul Norris, Mark Ardington and Sara Bennett pick up the coveted statuettes.

This is the second year in a row that Dneg has brought home the ‘Best VFX’ Oscar; last year, it was recognized for its work on Christopher Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’.

Accepting the award, Andrew Whitehurst said: “Visual effects is massively a team game… We’ve got to thank Alex [Garland] for being an amazing director. We have to thank Alicia [Vikander] for being Ava. And we have to thank the teams of artists, production and technical personnel at Double Negative, Milk VFX and Utopia, who are amazing. Without them, we are nothing. Thank you so much.”

PFW’s ‘DeepGen’ Stereo Tech recognised with AIS Lumiere™ Technology Award

The Advanced Imaging Society (AIS) presented its top annual honors for technical achievement at the 6th Annual Technology and New Products Awards at Paramount Pictures Studios in Hollywood yesterday, and has recognised Prime Focus World (PFW) with a Lumiere™ award for its proprietary ‘DeepGen’ stereo technology.

The Society’s Lumiere statuettes are presented to companies and products that have achieved both ‘innovation and impact’ in moving the entertainment industry forward. PFW’s ‘DeepGen’ technology, part of its ‘Hybrid Stereo Pipeline’, allows the use of ‘deep’ compositing data in the stereo conversion process, providing superior conversion results, a more efficient workflow and more flexibility and control.

Accepting the award on behalf of the PFW technology team were Global Head of View-D™ Eoin Greenham and Software Developer Laszlo Rikker, who attended the awards along with Global Technical Supervisor Rajat Roy and Software Developer Luke Gray.

PFW Global CEO Namit Malhotra was the first to congratulate the team on their success. “Driving greater innovation through our R&D and pipeline teams is the future of our industry. I believe that our commitment to creating technological breakthroughs is our biggest differentiator, and I wholeheartedly support the effort to help drive our industry forward by constantly raising our own bar.”
